Virginia Tech is expected to lose at least two players when the spring football transfer portal window opens Wednesday.
Quarterback Davi Belfort intends on entering the portal, according to an On3 Sports report that he reposted on his social media accounts. Offensive lineman Wed Davidson announced he will enter the portal on social media.

The spring window is open for 10 days and closes on April 25.
Both players were three-star prospects out of high school and were part of the 2024 recruiting class. Both redshirted last season and did not play a snap for the Hokies.
Belfort spent the spring as the Hokies’ third-string quarterback behind Kyron Drones and Pop Watson. He started the spring game for the offense with Drones and Watson both being held out with injuries, and he threw for 51 yards and a touchdown on 7-for-11 passing.

His decision to enter the transfer portal means true freshmen Kelden Ryan and A.J. Brand will spend the summer and training camp battling to become the third-string quarterback.
The Hokies could go to the transfer portal to bring in an experienced quarterback.
“It was good work for those young quarterbacks,” Hokies coach Brent Pry said of the two freshmen playing in the spring game.
Ryan and Brand each threw an interception. Ryan had a 43-yard scamper late in the first half that was the longest run of the game.
Davidson spent the spring working at guard. He worked with the third-string group at guard behind Layth Ghannam, Montavious Cunningham, Bob Schick and Brody Meadows.
Grateful for my time in Blacksburg, ready to see what the future holds!

The Hokies received good news earlier in the week with their second and third verbal commitments in the 2026 recruiting class.
Placekicker Will Love, the younger brother of current Tech placekicker John Love, announced his commitment on Monday. King’s Fork High junior Joshua Pittman, ranked a three-star prospect according to On3’s industry ranking, announced his commitment on Tuesday.
