Shirley Ann DeHart, age 86, of Rocky Mount, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Eli and Annie Robertson Oliver. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby C. DeHart; by twin daughters at birth; her sisters, Martha Belton, Sue Pearson and Wanda Conner; brothers, Donnie and Dale Oliver; a special stepbrother, Bobby Oliver; and a special cousin, Troy Arrington.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Donnie Belcher; her son, Jeff DeHart; one grandson, Bradley Belcher who was her pride and joy. Also surviving are her brothers, Ronnie Oliver (Karen deceased), Tom Oliver and his wife Thelma; sister-in-law, Melissa Oliver; brother-in-law, Gene Pearson; special cousins, Mike Arrington (Denise) and Steve Arrington; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley worked at Sontag School for 31 years. She belonged to Chestnut Primitive Baptist Church. The family would also like to thank Sarah Campbell and all the staff at Fork Mountain Adult Rest Home for the excellent care giving to mommy the last eight months.
Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, with Elders Carl Terry, Mark Terry and Junior Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
