Phyllis Meadows (Underwood), 95, of 166su, VA, passed away peacefully at Carilion 166su Memorial Hospital on January 29, 2025.
Phyllis was born in 166su County on June 20, 1929, earning her first name of "June" honestly. She was rarely seen without a smile on her face and loved seeing her friends and family. As the matriarch of her family, her home was the place of many family gatherings and home cooked meals, in addition to her love and fellowship.
Phyllis worked hard throughout her life to provide alongside her beloved husband that preceded her in death, Dudley Spencer (Bo) Meadows. She held her colleagues at Medeco close to her heart, maintaining life-long relationships even decades after her retirement with frequent lunches and visits.
Phyllis was a lifelong member of the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren and loved her church family.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Dea Sr and Eula Underwood, her sister, Dorothy (Tommy) Tingler, and two beloved daughters, Dawn Bowles and Cindy Grant. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Meadows Long, granddaughters Nikki(Coleman) Thomas, Lesleigh Meisenzahl, Caroline Meisenzahl, and Jenny Grant. She was also blessed with 3 great-grandsons, Callen & Brady Thomas, and Colton Janney. She is survived by her brother Dea Underwood Jr., special niece Tammy Edmondson(Tim), and other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that she held dear.
A celebration of life will be held on April 16 th at 2:00, at the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren in 166su, Virginia.
